After nearly 20 years together as a band, Better Than Ezra is set to debut the best work of their career with the release of Paper Empire May 12. The band wrote and recorded all 12 tracks on the album, recording in New Orleans and Los Angeles over a two-year period. The first single off the album, "Absolutely Still" reflects on the fragility of love and relationships while featuring a melodic verse and tender lyric. The album also captures simultaneously the melancholy and hope that comes with internal reflection on "Just One Day" - a song about how things would be different if you could see the ones you loved and lost for another moment. The band waited nearly five years to release the follow up to their last album, Before The Robots. During that time, Griffin penned tunes for David Cook, Howie Day, and other notable artists while Tom Drummond was busy producing acts in his native New Orleans. "[The Album] happened really organically and when a song was good, it got recorded," Kevin explains. "We didn't feel that pressure to do it all in a two week blast. We took a year and a half. So, I think as a result, the songs on the album are the cream of the crop that stood the test of time in the editing process to make the album."
